Swaths of inky blacks and grayed blues combine woth snowy whites and deep grays to create darkly moody, vaguely troubling images of empty industrial lots of emptier vistas of land and sea that resonate with the haunting whispers of lonely, wind-swept spaces.

As with poetry, Klein is not interested in depicting the exterior reality of a scene with her photo-based images; rather,
her spaces are infused with the unseen note, with a sense of time suspended that speaks to the core of experience.
